There are a lot of new technologies that were made to accommodate learners with disabilities. A few for those that are fully blind or on their way to being fully blind are audio players and software such as text-to-speech that read out what is on a child's screen. They could also use audio recorders if they have trouble writing notes so that they can record their teacher's lessons. Another cool tool for children that have trouble focusing while reading are reading guides. Reading guides are when a book is read aloud and the words being read are highlighted, so it helps them focus on the words. Adaptive devices just help children learn in a way that is easier for them since the way people normally learn, isn't always so easy. I have never used adaptive technology and I do not think that I know someone that does. I feel like the pace classes go would be faster than the pace the adaptive technology can go. I wouldn't say its a burden but I haven't experienced much of the technology at work so I wouldn't know if it will help a student keep up with the rest of their peers.
There are six levels of Bloom's Taxonomy. Each level is an important part that makes up a PowerPoint presentation. The first level is create, which means that with all works, it must be original and new. There must be no plagiarism and everything must be in your own words. This is an important part of student learning because it allows students to be able to form their own thoughts on what they've learned and turn that knowledge into something they can share with others. The next level of Bloom's Taxonomy is evaluate. This part is supports student learning in that it forces them to formulate an argument or support an argument that interests them. This way they can look more in depth about a topic. Another level is analyze. This step has students comparing and contrasting ideas so that they can expand their knowledge. This supports student learning by helping them organize different ideas. Applying is one of the most important levels in my opinion. If you are able to apply information to real-world examples, then it is so much easier to remember what is being taught. It makes the information relatable and a lot more interesting. Applying information in PowerPoint will definitely change the way a student retains information. This then leads to the next level: understand. Creating in PowerPoint, evaluating, analyzing, and applying information all plays a large role in how you understand what is being taught. All the levels of Bloom's Taxonomy ultimately add up to remembering the information that has been learned and used in PowerPoint.
Digital Trends is a website made to update, review, and sell new technology. They even provide information on technology that is still in the process of being reviewed and tested before it is released. It is an easy way to keep up with all kinds of technology, not just for educational uses.
