Blog Journal 7
Using a "professional" twitter has been a positive experience. I have been able to see my peers different perspectives on similar topics and was able to find out about many teacher productivity resources through their tweets. I have also followed a few accounts that tweet updates on the use of technology in classrooms. The accounts I follow tweet everything education related, from game-based learning to protecting digital native students from cyber-bullying. Twitter has helped me find several important websites that teachers are already using in their classrooms that have made it easier to keep students focused. Although it is usually not used for education purposes, I have many links to helpful sites and perspectives on all kinds of topics at my fingertips. It is such an easy way to communicate with educators all around the world.
I have never created a web page before so this is a totally new experience for me. I've had some difficulties doing all the assignment requirements but it's getting there. It just takes some exploring and practice. I have learned how to insert YouTube videos onto a web page and create a journal on the website. I do not think Weebly is very easy to use, especially since I have no experience, but it probably is easy for everyone else and I am just clueless. In the future, I will know what to do and will be able to make a web page for my future classroom for mainly the parents so they know what I am about and how I will run my class. I think it will help when it comes to communication with parents because they will be able to access the web page as long as they have Internet and a device to access it on.

From working with Diigo, I have learned how to socially bookmark websites so my peers can use them as well, how to annotate websites, and how to take part in topic discussions. This can be useful in a classroom so that students can share resources with each other, so that I can see other teachers shared resources, and so that I can go back to important sites that I myself find useful. Diigo is definitely something that I will use as a teacher.
